Kultura (no. 452) publishes a poem “Dialektyka i sztuka” (Dialectics and Art) under the pseudonym Stańczykówna. Years later it comes out that this was the future Nobel laureate Wisława Szymborska. Parisian bookshop Libella hosts a book launch for the re-publication by the Institute of Gustaw Herling-Grudziński’s Inny świat (A World Apart) and its first translation, after 30 years, into French. Kultura issue no. 459 contains Jerzy Giedroyc’s denial of malicious reports about the bad state of his health and the parlous state of the journal.
